Montenegro has a tourist tax, which is charged to tourists for each day of stay in the country. The amount of this fee depends on the particular city or resort. In popular tourist destinations such as Budva, Tivat and Kotor, the fee is 1 euro per day per vacationer.
It is important to register within 24 hours after arrival in the country. You can do this through the hotel administration or independently at the tourist office, presenting your passport and giving the name of the hotel or the address of the apartment and the name of the owner. In case of non-compliance with this law, the tourist can be fined at the exit from the country (fine up to 200 euros).
