Jewish community of Montenegro
This is the youngest community in Europe. It is headed by the Chief Rabbi of Montenegro, Ari Edelkopf. Community has been the foundation of Jewish life at all times, because a full-fledged cultural, spiritual and social life based on Jewish values such as spirituality, education, tradition, mutual responsibility and charity is possible only in the community.
Synagogue in Podgorica
The synagogue, which opened in 2017, has become home to the Jews of Montenegro. All traditional Jewish holidays are observed, every Friday the community gathers for Shabbat and on Saturday for reading the prayers.
Despite the fact that the history of this synagogue began recently, many memorable events have already taken place within its walls.
Synagogue in Budva
In 2023, thanks to the invaluable sponsorship of Dukley Gardens, a new Jewish Community Center opened in Budva, the tourist capital of Montenegro. It actively promotes everything related to Jewish life and culture, and houses a synagogue that ensures that all the commandments of Judaism can be observed. In the immediate vicinity of the Community Center is the Shalom restaurant, the first kosher restaurant in Montenegro.

Jewish Cultural Center
It is with pride and joy that we announce the opening of the Jewish Cultural Center in Montenegro. This Center will be not only a place to learn about the rich history and culture of the Jewish people, but also a space for the exchange of knowledge and ideas. We plan to organize lectures, exhibitions, concerts and master classes within our center, which will allow everyone to deepen their understanding of the Jewish culture.
We invite every Jew in Montenegro to join our Jewish Cultural Center to create a space of mutual understanding, respect and creativity with us.
