Purim celebrations took place on March 6 and 7, 2023 in Podgorica and Budva.
Purim is the most joyous holiday of the Jewish calendar. On this day, Jews from all over the world remember the rescue of Jews living in ancient Persia from death. It is customary to wear masquerade costumes and eat triangular cookies “ears of Haman”. It is obligatory to make “mishloach manot” – edible gifts. Traditionally, on this day the “Scroll of Esther” is read in the synagogue.
